Benefits of submitting to search engines and web directories
No one would want to start a blog that provides information that gets no visitors/readers right? So, the first step to make your blog appear and get a spot on the Internet is to submit it to search engines and web directories.
Note: Make sure your blog is set up properly with contents and it is functioning properly before doing the submission.
Submitting to major search engines and web directories is important to:
1. Get your blog listed in search results
2. Get traffic to your blog
Since most blogs are mostly providing information and the sole income is from advertising on the page, then getting traffic and getting a lot of traffic are very important to make money from your blog. When your blog starts getting traffic, you will see some income start coming in. Over the long-term, the income will grow bigger and you can make a living using your blogs.
Manually submitting your blogs would be too tiring and time-consuming for you to do so. We know that submitting our blogs to search engines and web directories are important for long tail traffic but I am sure you would not want to submit your blog one by one manually right? Submitting your blog can be done manually and it have to be done manually for to be more effective. I urge you to submit to major search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo. Both services are very popular and very useful especially after you have updated your blog with new contains. These 2 sites will help you inform major blog directories to crawl your blog for new contents.
Paid Services
Personally, I have not used any paid services to submit my blog. This is because free services are already good enough to help me do this simple task. If you are looking for very fast and effective blog submission and you are willing to pay a small fees for the service, then it would be good for you to do so.
Submitting blogs to search engines and web directories will not give your blog a traffic boost but it will be very rewarding as long-term traffic. The earlier you submit your blog to search engines and the more you submit your blog to web directories, the better your blog will be ranked in the future.
